grid of old-growth
+ graphite, shadow-
strokes.
We fueled
the prairie-fire, our engine
for art in afterburn
toward burnout,
exhaust, exhausted, hot
to the touch.
O praise the workprocess,
lovely
+ stressful as a saint
or scorpion, + either way
the hand is open.
